Granny Stripe Blanket

I got a bee in my bonnet to do something with all the leftover yarn I have from all the baby blankets I’ve made so far. My Youtubers have been making this blanket and it’s a great way to use up your scraps. I decided to break out all my leftovers and see how they would look. Originally I wanted it to just be organic and I would reach for the next color but…who are we kidding! Of course I had to lay them all out and try to come up with a nice transition between all the different colors. I was really worried because some of them are just so much brighter than the others but as I started the blanket, I could see that with just two rows of each they blended in pretty well.

I’ve made big granny square blankets in the past and found that I didn’t like them as lap blankets because of all the holes, but I decided that I should give it a try again. It would also be a great way for me to see my work all the time, proudly displayed in my living room.

For the pattern/tutorial, I once again turned to my favorite crochet channel - Bella Coco. She’s just so good at providing calm, step-by-step instructions. I always watch her tutorial and then write out the pattern for myself in a way I’ll understand later when I go back to reference it. This is a really fun and fast project. And it reminds me of my grandma because she taught me how to crochet and taught me with a granny square stitch! And it’s also giving me all the fall, cozy vibes.
