Annie’s Kit Clubs: Christmas Candy Sampler Blanket

I am having so much fun making this blanket! It’s way easier than the Moroccan blanket, and I get to learn a new stitch every few rows. I like this because the changes in color and pattern make a very striking blanket but also make it more interesting for me to work on. I’m used to doing a whole blanket in one stitch and it can get boring after a while. I like the idea of mixing several different stitches/textures together and will most likely use a few of these in my next blanket.

I am quite behind on this but still hope to be able to knock this out in time for the holidays so I can enjoy it as decor and snuggling time with the dogs during the Christmas break.

I think the biggest difference between this project and the Moroccan blanket is that once you learn the stitch, you can just go for the rest of the row/stripe without thinking or referencing the video. I made this blanket wider than the pattern so sometimes I have to fudge the ends of the rows because it’s not exactly the right number of stitches. At first I was worried that I might run out of yarn because I made it larger, but they give plenty of extra so it hasn’t been a problem. And then I just check back with the video tutorial when I get to the end of my stripe to learn how to do the next one. It’s been very enjoyable so far.
