Squishy Project Bag
I’m just loving all these project bags! This is another cute one I saw on Erica Arndt’s Youtube channel. I just love all her fabric choices! This bag is more of a simple bag design with 2/3 of the front in one fabric and 1/3 in an accent fabric. I also like that it has a little strap to carry it around. This size would be perfect for a pair of socks, a hat, or some cross stitch.
Just like the other bags of hers I’ve made, this one is very easy to follow and came together quickly. I think the best part about this bag is that even though it’s small, there are a lot of possible uses for it. It’s also nice and tall so the slip pockets in the inside are deep enough to hold needles and scissors without a problem. I also like that you can fold over the top and stitch directly from the bag. I will definitely be making this one regularly as it shows off the fabric nicely and I like the 3/3 layout! The only issue I had with it is that the boxy bottom comes in so that the bottom of the bag curves under the sides. That looks a little weird to me.
And can we talk about the zipper??? Everytime I work with My Handmade Space zippers I’m always amazed! They are so pretty and I like ordering all the different styles of zipper pulls. I went with the new flower design for this one and it fits perfectly with the fabric pattern. Working with the zippers is easy because the metal coils aren’t real metal - you don’t have to worry about breaking a needle by sewing over them. And they have so many different colors and designs!
