Linen Stitch Shawl

Boy, has this project been a rollercoaster ride! At first conception, this project was going to be a corner-to-corner linen stitch shawl. I had this beautiful hand dyed yarn from Etsy and was excited to make it into a shawl. Once I got pretty far into the 2nd skein I realized that I was going to need much more yarn than I thought so I went back to the Etsy seller but she is no longer making this colorway. Noooo! So I tore the whole thing apart thinking that if I made a rectangular shawl, I wouldn’t need as much yarn but that didn’t work either. Then I decided that the best thing to do was to find another yarn that would coordinate with this one. I was looking around my stash and amazingly found the perfect color match for a coordinating yarn I could use but I only had one skein of that. So I went back to that Etsy seller and placed an order for a few more. Now, this Etsy seller is super slow (she usually takes 6 weeks to send it out) but I figured I could just be patient. I had other projects to work on in the meantime. But then the order never arrived and I had to open a ticket with Etsy to get it resolved. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to send the yarn so they refunded me the money, which is great, but that doesn’t get me the yarn. It looks like her whole store is down now so not sure what happened!

So I went back to the drawing board to find a third yarn that might tie in nicely. I found a darker colorway that looked like it had some of the dark pink in there and am now working on that stripe. I think they all blend nicely together but now I’m worried because in the end I will have two wider stripes on the outer edges and one shorter stripe in the middle. I’ll go ahead and see what it looks like. Worst case scenario I just tear it apart again and make a scarf or something.
